YE Project "Volunteering for peaceful future"

International youth exchange project - “Volunteering for Peaceful Future”, in frame of YiA,  took place in one
of the most popular mountain resort of Georgia _ Bakuriani, during of 5-11 November. The
project lasted during 7 days (including arrival and departure). It has brought together 40 young
people from 8 different countries, from EU and EECA: Czech Republic, Latvia, Poland,
Lithuania, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, and Russia.
The themes of the project were: developing ideas of peace, learning to avoid the conflict
situations and find the ways out, dialog among young people from different countries by
different backgrounds, promoting solidarity and tolerance between them by working together
in international groups, stimulate better understanding of diversities, and developing
awareness against of xenophobia. During the YE accent was made on different levels of
conflicts: conflict between individuals, between opposite sides within the society and conflicts
between countries...
The learning methods of project were through non-formal and in-formal education. For to
achieve the principal goals of YE we used different activities, such as: group
discussion/presentations, special-cases, intercultural evenings, team-building activities,
role-plays, flash-mobs, peaceful demonstration involving local communities and other
creative activities initiated by youngsters.

Aims and Objectives:
 To unite young people from different countries by different backgrounds for supporting
the peace-building process in the world, antidiscrimination policy, non-violence
communication and agitating peace in general;
 To inspire youngsters to get the volunteers and ambassadors of the Peace in their
surroundings. Implant the belief in new generation that they do not have to follow the
old way of their ancestors, but they are the policy makers today and they can make their
choice, they can have their say.
 To promote understanding diversity of different societies, cultures, religions and people
instead of discriminating and excluding them;
 To promote the idea, that policy of countries should not determine relations between
people in a negative way, opposite to this youngsters - the new generation should work
for to calm the permanent conflicts and “build new bridges” between people;
 To manage representatives of different cultures and backgrounds to live and work
together; to rise up positive awareness and promote tolerance to contribute peacebuilding
process in the world;
 To stimulate peaceful relation between different societies, develop youths awareness
against xenophobia and to promote common European culture and equality of all nations;

Venue: YE tooke place in Bakuriani, Georgia and lasted for 7 days.
TARGET GROUP and age of participants: Leaders, youth workers, multipliers, NGO members,
ex-EVS volunteers. (18 – 25 years old)
Group size: 5 people from each country (4 + 1 leader)
Working language: English
Participant Countries : Czech Republic, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova,
and Russia.
